The history of the
muvneS 'Iw goes back centuries. It was a ceremony that was developed
with the God jagh'ghoS that was a way to pay Honor to worthy
adversaries. In a ceremony similar to that of the 3 days that are
spent in a cave before marriage, the victors will take the collected
Blood of the slain.
In a special drum, this blood is
placed, one slain warrior at a time, then the skin of the Saber Bear
is stretched across it.
The Victors taking part in the
ceremony and, if a suitable cave is not available, will then create a
special lodge, covered also with skins of the Saber Bear and take in
heated rocks to be placed in the center alter.
The warriors then enter and sing
both Honor songs to the dead, and victory songs to jagh'ghoS and
qey'lIS. While beating the drum, the signer will tip the drum so the
blood of the slain wets the skin, creating a special tone - and in so,
we hope to make the way to Sto-vo-Kor certain.
After the songs are song, and the
ceremony is finished, the blood is then sent to a special Brewer who
then sets the combined Blood of the slain, both victor and the
defeated, to a secret process and then brewed into the original Blood
Wine......
Many Warriors today still drink
the Blood Wine, though today's version is but a whimper of the
original - no Honored Blood, no ceremony.......that is......most
except those of House VamPyr and House tSepeS!
