Wedding
The Klingon Wedding Of Dax And Worf
The scene opens with klingons playing steel drums. Sirella enters.
irella:
"With Fire and steel did the gods forge a Klingon heart. So
fiercely did it beat, so loud was the sound, that the gods cried out
"On this day we have brought forth the strongest heart in all the
heavens. None can stand before it without trembling at its
strength." But then the Klingon heart weakened. It's steady
rhythm faltered. The gods said, "Why have you weakened so? We
have made you the strongest of all of creation."
Worf enters.
Sirella:
"And the heart said;"
Worf: "I am alone."
Sirella:
"And the gods knew they had erred. So they went back to their
forge and brought forth another heart."
Dax
enters. she climbs up the Dias and stands across from Worf. Alexander
steps forward and gives Worf and Dax a Bat'leth each.
Sirella: "But the second heart beat stronger than the first. The
first was jealous of it's power."
Worf and
Dax swing at each other with the Bat'leth. Dax puts the Bat'leth to
his throat.
Sirella:
"Fortunately the second heart was tempered with wisdom."
Dax:
"If we join together no force can stop us."
Sirella:
"And when the two hearts began to beat together, they filled the
heavens with a terrible sound. For the first time the gods knew fear.
They tried to flee but it was too late. The Klingon hearts destroyed
the gods who made them and turned the heavens to ashes. To this very
day, no one can oppose the beating of two Klingon hearts. Not even
me."
Sirella
turns to Worf.
Sirella:
"Worf, son of Mogh, does your heart beat only for this
woman?"
Worf:
"Yes."
Sirella:
"And will you swear to join with her, to stand with her, to all
who oppose you?"
Worf:
"I swear."
Sirella:
"Jadzia daughter of Kayla, does your heart beat only for this
man?"
Dax:
"Yes."
Sirella:
"And do you swear to join with him, to stand with him, against
all who would oppose you?"
Dax:
"I swear."
Sirella:
"Then let all those present here today, know that this man and
this woman are married."
Worf and
Dax kiss. Sirella embraces Worf and steps back. Dax curtsies to
Sirella.
Dax:
"My lady."
Sirella:
"Welcome to the house of Martok, my daughter."
The
Klingon drums begin again.
Using Ma'Stakas crowd then attacks the bride and groom.

killing blow.)
Mark
center stage for the officiate. Have the couple stand back to back
before the officiate and then take two paces forward (to the
officiate's left and right). Mark those locations. Officiate will also
need a large (but not sharp) knife or short sword.
The ceremony:
Walk in
music can play as the Officiate and couple walks in. I recommend "Hill
of the Skull" by Joe Satriani from the album "Surfing with
the Alien." (1987, Relativity Records) The track is 100 seconds
long and those approaching the stage should not take their time in the
exaggeratedly slow pace of a Human wedding. Delay leaving for the
stage in such a way that you can walk with purpose and arrive at the
stage at the end of the music.
The
Officiate stands at center stage. The couple stands facing away from
each other four paces apart. (as previously marked).
Officiate:

Groom:

Officiate:

*bride's name*, do you marry
him?
Bride:
HIja'
Yes.
The
Couple takes two steps backwards to stand back to back. The officiate
draws a dagger which he holds above their heads. The couple reaches up
with their right hands and grasp the blade palm down. The couple turns
to the left to face each other. The officiate lowers the blade to
waist level, the couple's hands still atop the blade. The officiate
places his hand on top of the couple's hands.
Officiate:
DaHjaj mobHa' tlhIH.
Today, you are un-alone.
DaHjaj tagh wo'
Today the Empire begins.
The
officiate withdraws the blade, leaving the couple holding hands.
Officiate:
pItlh.
Finished.
The
couple kisses or other affectionate behavior appropriate in public,
and while doing that, the officiate states in a loud voice:
Officiate:
yIn.
Life.
batlh.
Honor.
Qapla'
Success.
For
better crowd effect, eliminate yIn and batlh. Just yell Qapla'.
